Decision Is The Key To Success

Decision is the key to success in any aspect of your life.  From daily family decisions to everyday business decisions, the first step in achieving success is the ability to make decisions promptly.

Decision making for some can be challenging as they allow others to influence or sway their decisions.  Lack of self confidence and the fear of being subject to ridicule tends to cause uncertainty.  Understanding where you see yourself in the decision making process can lead you to a positive goal driven life or down the path of uncertainty and second guessing yourself – ultimately reflected in your results.

An honest, self analysis can help you determine what type of decision maker you are.

Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million dollar mark disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching decisions promptly and of changing those decisions slowly, if, and when they were changed.” – Napoleon Hill, Think And Grow Rich.

Conversely “People who fail to accumulate money, without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions, if at all, very slowly, and of changing these decisions quickly and often.

People that fall into the later category have a habit of procrastination as well.  Putting off making a decision, worrying, and looking at every angle, pros and cons, can induce an unnecessary stress which can easily be alleviated, with one simple word “decide“.

2022 is another year of opportunity for many.  As the world is faced with uncertainty, personal decisions will play an even more part of how one creates their own success.

From everyday family life to physical fitness, to financial decisions and business decisions.  Having a clear focus with the ability to make decisions promptly and decisively, will separate the successful from the ‘what could have been(s)’.

A good question to ask yourself, and something everyone needs to be consciously aware of, is where you stand.

If your results are not where you would like them to be, decision making AND procrastination, could be the culprit.

Do a self-analysis of how you handle decisions.  If you make them quickly and promptly, continue to do so.  Even the wrong decision can be rectified when it does not provide the desired results.  Simply make the decision to correct accordingly.

If you have a tendency to ask other people what they think, or deliberate and question your own conscious, your results will reflect what Napoleon Hill mentioned above.

Decision making is a habit, a correctible habit, that is formed in someone’s youth that generally carries over into their adult life.   The root cause can often be negative thinking or self consciousness, that was inadvertently influenced from family members or friends when you were growing up.

If your goal in 2022 is to exceed sales, start a business, get in better shape, eat healthier – no matter what it is, get in the habit of making decisive decisions.

Not only will this build confidence, but will eliminate wasted time, worry and stress which in the long run will take it’s toll and lead to other problems and health issues.  When you are able to turn indecisiveness into a habit of “Decision”, your results will change and you will start making strides to lead a more productive life.

Remember the results that you achieve and goals that you set, cannot be done by anyone else.  So why ask someone else for their opinion? It’s not their results that you are trying to achieve!

As always my very best to you for continued success and happiness in business and in life.  To be notified when additional mindset and personal development posts are shared, subscribe to our newsletter.
